Surprise Surprise, Yet Another ATC!!!

Well I needed to trim the piece of felt I made today and after a bit of a think I made some of the trimmings into an ATC, machine embroidered it with silver thread onto canvas and then hand embroidered beads and buttons for decoration. I've already booked onto 2 felt courses one on felt landscapes and one for making felt bags, the possibilities will be endless.

New Craft - Felting

Went to visit a craft centre today near Martock - they were advertising Craft Demonstrations and Wood Turning Demonstrations - seemed perfect, I love craft, my husband loves wood turning. We were there quite early and I was first at the felting demo and got to have a go at making a small piece of felt. I loved the process (found it quite therapeutic actually) and want to attend a couple of the workshops that Andrea is having later this year - so watch this space for the results.I want to do something with the piece of felt I made so I'm off to have a think!

Yet More Beading

Yesterdays class was quite intense, we learnt Peyote stitch which takes for ever and uses very delicate tiny beads for the best result. Result one slightly stressed PJ and 1 small Peyote stitch ring. I also got to finish a bracelet I've been working on for a few days - I just needed to find a suitable large bead for the fastening, mission completed - here's the photo to prove it!

Mermaid Number 2 and Ballet Dancer with Flowers

Well number 2 mermaid turned out slightly better but there's room for improvement still. I like the ballet dancer she's sweet and the flowers are easy peasy.

Little Mermaid & Flowers

I really wanted to design a beaded mermaid and this is my first attempt, it's not quite right as she's a bit "hippy" and her waist is too small. So it's back to the drawing board for a redesign and another attempt - Watch this space! The flowers are easy and I want to try some different colour ways.

Beading Class - Week 2

I started this beautiful teal miyuki bead and teal pearl necklace in the class and finished 90% of it there, then finished the necklace and completed the bracelet and earings at home. I'm really pleased with the results and bought a beading magazine from WHSmiths yesterday as a treat, quite inspirational. I'm going to try one of the projects tomorrow if I can get the beads.
