Crop Time

Today I went to a crop and spent 4 hours working on 2 mini books to commemorate Thomas & Rosie (our sadly departed cats - see earlier post) + discovered Bo Bunny's new Calypso range, ideal for the BBQ we are going to tomorrow to celebrate our Son in Law's 30th birthday, so I started another mini book in anticipation.

New Additions to the family

Welcome to Oscar & Felix, two rescue cats from Heaven's Gate (National Animal Welfare Trust in Somerset). who have come to live with us.
They have been with us for just 2 weeks and are settling in amazingly well. Oscar (ginger) and Felix (black & white) are 21 month old neutered toms. We have been getting used to having young agile cats in the house - having previously had our last two rescue cats for 14 & 17 years respectively and being used to all the issues that old age brings.

Felix & Oscar are doing great impressions of "Urban Terrorists" eating, sleeping, exploring and of course ambushing and play fighting!!!

********************************************
In remembrance - sadly 3 weeks ago we had to make the hard decision to have Thomas our 17 year old cat put to sleep, he outlived his sister Rosie by 30 months and both are sadly missed.

Cupcake Fabric ATC

My latest fabric ATC decorated with cupcakes, one cupcake is made of embellished cardstock and the other cupcake is embroidered felt. I feel a phase coming on.

Cupcake Brooch

This is the other thing I've been working on - Cupcake Brooches, made from felt and embellished with sequins and seed beads, I'm hoping there's going to be a market for them amongst crafters. I'm going to do other popular shapes - so watch this space!

Fabric ATC's (3)

Hard at work still creating these mini masterpieces, I just love them. Thses were as a result of a piece of patterned paper that had some great quotes intermingled with graphic images, I just chopped and placed and embellished.

Inchies

These lovely little works of art are called "Inchies", I've done mine in fabric but you can make them from cardstock as well. Literally they are 1" squares embellished with whatever you can get on the square.
I'm hoping to join the UKS June swap where the theme will be the colour GREEN, they have already completed PURPLE and are just completing this month's swap of ORANGE. I have to say these little things are addictive - sign me up for the help group immediately!!!!

Fabric ATC's (2)

This week I have been doing some more work on Fabric ATC's, I love working on these little works of art.
They allow me to use up small scraps of ribbon, fabric, paper & card, so very economical!

Banana Frogging @ PaperArts

Posted by Picasa
This collage is made up of pages from the mini book I completed after attending a Banana Frog Stamping Class held at PaperArts on Saturday 16th May 2009.
Bev (from Banana Frog) showed us what to do with our stamps, we stamped acrylic, ribbon, foam, paper, shrink plastic, canvas - in fact if it stood still long enough it got stamped!!!
It was a great day and Bev was brilliant, Fiona was a great host along with her fantastic staff, some who were on duty and some who were class members. The weather was not kind to us, but we were inside so didn't matter too much - it was great to meet old friends and new friends alike.

Cupcake Aprons

I've started making aprons for scrappers, I use individually drawn & cut out felt shapes in a variety of colours and then add shrink plastic embellishments and sequin and bead embroidery. Once completed I then applique to an apron with a pocket. Orders so far have included one in pinks with initials on the cupcakes to spell a name and one in turquoises.

Fabric ATC's

I was lucky enough to go to Scrap Fever in April and one of classes we had was by Donna Downey where she inspired me to use more paint on layouts. She also mentioned fabric albums and fabric ATC's, well I got to thinking and had a bit of a play and here is the result.
