The Postman came today!

My lovely postie came today with a package from Tam @ Willowing, I had an amazing birthday and I got money from my mum so I decided tosign up for Lifebook 2012 and I opted for the Rainbow Package which gives me access to a further 3 of Tam's amazing courses. I chose "Fabulous Faces", "Awesome Art Journal" & "Ultimate World of Whimsy" - I also paid for the DVD's which were in the package delivered today.

Birthday Weekend Celebrations

Been very busy this weekend, had a house full of people (parents, daughter & family, aunt & DD's in-laws) for quadruple birthday party, 80th, 67th, 55th & 2nd! Cakes were made, banners put up, homemade lasagne, garlic bread & stuffed baked potatoes - yummy! Beds changed, laundry done, furniture back to normal places, dishwasher worjed overtime - everywhere back to normal!! Been for Sunday lunch @ The Fox & Goose Inn (thanks Dad!), and to The Barn's 3rd Anniversary Celebrations (thanks Kelly!).
DGS looking at his Dinosaur Birthday cake - he loved it!
Fruit Strings always go down well as a snicky-snack for the boys
Hopefully normal service will resume for arts & crafts this week, from Wednesday at least! Need some sanity in my life after a very busy week and even busier weekend.

Alter It Monthly - October - Boxes

Top view with decoupage roses, punched butterflies, fabric flowers with button & riibbon. The base was a hinged paper box which I covered with gesso, then painted a dark shade of green, I used Graphic 45 papers to cover most  of the sides of the box.
Inside lid, decoupaged accent pieces, background as outside of box, (gesso and paint), edges of box and inside box are pieces of kitchen towel used in other art work with spray inks. The colours lent themself to be used here as I never throw painted towel used to dry work away, I use lots for canvas backgrounds.

Over on the Alter It Monthly Blog the challenge has been posted for October. "Well this month is quite a simple to follow month. we want you to alter a box, jewellery box, gift box, shoe box..... any box you can find... with or without a lid.. and any shape as long as its a container." This is the first chance I've had to complete a challenge! I've also submitted this post to the brilliant Artists in Blogland Blog so welcome if you've come from there!

52Q, Week 40 - What am I taking for granted?

Simple - myself!
