Last Denim Mini Notebook

Managed to get one other Mini Refillable Fabric Notebook out of the last of the denim skirt I recycled, theme of pink for Sarah, NO denim left from that skirt now!

Hope you like it Sarah, I'll try post tomorrow, but thinking sensibly, it will probably be Tuesday!

Mini Fabric Notebooks

 

 

Using smaller pieces of the recycled denim skirt that I had left over, I've made 2 mini notebooks, lightly embelllished with beads and applique, paper is 100gsm weight (printer paper) and approx 3½" Square in size, easily refillable, cute to make notes -price is £6.50 incl P&P ($12 incl P&P to USA).

Mine, all mine, literally spent 8 hours making this baby, designing, constructing, applique work & beading, so much hand sewing, designed around my needs for an art journal.

These little beauties (a tin of 72 Derwent Art Bars) were delivered today, I claim temporary amnesia & finger slippage LOL!

Sneak Peaks!

Sneak peaks of an Art Journal that I'm making for me, designed for me, by me, with all the little extras that take time, like beading, applique etc. I have 8 pen slots and a pocket for my Travel Peerless Watercolour Palette, + little pockets on the front and back to pop "stuff" in!

I used a denim skirt from the charity shop so recycling is even better, it's taken me ages, I have spent 5 hours sewing Swarovski Crystals and timy beads on as well as hand appliqe work, just about to fill with paper and bind with ribbon, more photos soon

The beauty of these art journals is that once the pages are full, you can remove them, tie them with other ribbon (maybe adding a hard cover!) and then refill the journal with your own hand cut pages of the paper of your choice, be that Watercolour, mixed Media, or a mixture. These will be posted on Thursday, I hope they like!

First USA Art Journal - Sold

Tomorrow this beautifully patterned fabric will be made into a Handcrafted Mixed Media Art Journal for one lucky lady in the USA, only 2 more art journals will be made in this fabric as I'm keen to promote individuality, rather than uniformity, even the other AJ's made in this fabric will not be the same, they may have different ribbon, a different button and a different charm. I will post a picture tomorrow when completed so far it's all cut out and ready to sew, but I've already completed a VERY special one today with extra features in someone specials favourite material - guess who?

Seventeen gorgeous cotton fabrics to make my handmade Art Journals, I have priced the AJ's now and they range from £16-£20 depending on whether it's filled with 24 pages of 8¼"x5½" Mixed Media Paper or 9"x6" Watercolour Paper, less if they are unfilled (cheaper to ship!) All AJ's will have a pen slot and a little charm and will be bound with ribbon so that they can be refilled, so great for the environment!
