Picture Book with Barbara (part 3)

Then I added the embellishments to make the book come together, filled the shadow boxes, sealed them with Mica, added beads, feathers, shells, dried flowers & grasses, extra coffee dyed cheese cloth & metal gauze sheets, very effective. Not finished, probably another 2 stages to finish.

Oregon Update

Not in any chronological order just adding photos of my travels and adventures.
1. I cooked stuffed chicken parcels for dinner on 4th June for Nancy & Michael , they really liked them.
2.Nancy at the Thai Pepper restaurant in Ashford, it was a lovely evening and we sat outside on the balcony overlooking the river.
3. Fish and chips at The Illahee in Glide, the fish was battered salmon, very unusual but very tasty all the same, sadly no mushy peas!
4. My first taste of Thai food, it was heavenly, thanks to Nancy for stretching my taste bud experience.
5. Meet the resident dogs - Hank & George, bundles of fun and so cute, they never leave Nancy's side given half the chance.

Working on my travel journal!

Remember the travel journal Nancy made for me, well I've been working on getting up to date with pages, so far I've got as far as Saturday, will catch up later today!

Pysanky Eggs with Nancy

Today we made Pysanky Eggs (decorated Ukrainian eggs), we were lucky enough to get goose eggs which are larger, Nancy is a great teacher and it was fascinating to watch how the egg changed after each dye dip. I really enjoyed making mine, I will have a go at one more before I leave Oregon.

Fish & Chip Supper

Had a great fish & chip supper @ Illahee in Glide, Orgeon. The fish was salmon and the chips were seasoned, it was a great meal with great company - Nancy, Mike, Meredith & Woodie!

Happy Mail in USA

Tonight I had dinner with Nancy, Mike, Meredith & Woody, we had fish & chips, it was delicious - the fish was salmon, never had battered salmon before! Meredith gave me Happy Mail and my Prayer Flag from the Book of Days Swap, it's beautiful.

After 26 hours of travelling, with minimum food and an upset tummy, it's nearly 4pm by my body clock and I needed food, any food, so here I am sat in Amici, in the Holiday Inn, Eugene having breakfast, being waited on by Berny a most attentive & great server and waiting for the amazing Nancy to pick me up!

USA Trip!

By the time you read this, my luggage (all that you see here!) and I will have started our long journey to Oregon, USA. I fly from London Heathrow to Eugene in Oregon, a 17hr trip airport to airport, without the travelling either end, so all in all probably 24hours in reality. I have taken loads of presents, 2 class kits & a little something for everyone attending the Girls' Art Party Weekend, a number of packages & envelopes to post whilst I'm in the USA, my art stuff and a few clothes. I hope I have set everything up to be able post from my iPad/iPhone whilst  I am there and I have scheduled a few posts as well. I'll be home 21st June!
