Brave Girl Apron Challenge - Completed

This is me wearing my apron for the Brave Girls Apron Challenge, the photo on the right is my cat Oscar trying to muscle in on the photoshoot!
This was posted on 22nd February and I've been working on it a little at a time since then and this is what I've done: -
  • added the pink polka dot ruffles & pocket
  • made the beaded key ring dangler
  • cut & sewn felt bird & cupcake & embellished with beads & sequins (both are removable for washing)
  • sewn ribbon tags & buttons all over
  • added the little embellished zip pocket for my credit card LOL!
It's covered with Breast Cancer pins as that is a charity very close to my heart. I hope to see it included in a video that Melody & Kathy are making, let's keep fingers crossed.

Kaisercraft @ Merly Impressions

I always say if you find a good on-line shop - then post about it, we're always too quick to moan, but rarely give praise where due. Merly Impressions has an impressive range of all things Kaisercraft. I have placed two orders so far and the items are dispatched quickly and arrive beautifully packaged, both of my orders had beautiful handwritten notes signed by Chrissy and were punched with a butterfly highlight. I love the huge range they carry in their shop - go take a look! They are on Facebook to keep you updated and they also have a Blog where there are some great projects!

Truth Card Swap with Dawn from Canada

These two beautiful Truth Cards arrived from Dawn in Canada, they are so amazing, the photos do not do them justice, the one on the left has layers of rich coloured papers and beautiful embellishments, the one on the right has a mirror in the shape of a bird YES - I know, never seen anything like that in my life! It also has a beautiful velvet bow.

They came in a beautiful hand decorated envelope, I have no idea how it managed to travel thousands of miles and arrive undamaged AMAZING!

Inside was a beautiful handmade card with a handwritten message, truly beautiful!

She Art Girls 3 & 4

She Art Girl 3 (L) - She had colourful dreams - If you can dream it, you can do it!I used some beautiful roses ribbon trim and some very delicate ribbon as trim on her dress & shoes.
She Art Girl 4 (R) - She was grateful for her blessings - A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future and accepts you the way you are! I'm loving doing these girls with Christy, she's so generous with her time and input, she makes it so special!

No Envy - No Fear

Saw this on Brave Girls Blog today, so apt today!

No Envy No Fear - by Joshua Radin
Some are reaching few are there, want to reign from the heroes chair,
some are scared to fly so high, well this is how we have to try:

Have no envy and no fear, have no envy, no fear

Brother brother we all see, you’re hiding out so painfully,
see yourself come out to play, a lovers rain will wash away

Your envy and your fear, so have no envy, no fear

When your sister turns to leave, only when she’s most in need,
take away the cause of pain, by showing her we’re all the same.

Have no envy and no fear, have no envy and no fear

Every day we try to find, we search our hearts and our minds,
the place we used to call our home, can’t be found when we’re alone

So have no envy, no fear, have no envy and no fear

Brave Girls Daily Truth - A Little Bird Told Me!

Dear Overwhelmed Girl,

What if the purpose of life was to experience JOY?

Just think about it for a minute. What if it really was??

What would you need to let go, and what would you need to cling to tighter?

Well, life IS supposed to be joyful, and it can be. Hold on tight to what is important and precious, and let everything else go.

And have a joyful, joyful, JOYFUL day!

She Art Girl 1

My first She Art Girl canvas with Christy Tomlinson (she's awesome). I did a 5"x7" canvas and I'm really pleased with her. I have another background prepped and one more to do so there will be another couple of girls before too long! I'm so loving what Christy does, she's amazing and shares so much in her videos!

Brave Girls Daily Truth - A Little Bird Told Me!

Dear Oh So Strong Girl,

You really are so much stronger than you think you are.

Even those things in your life that feel like such a heavy weight --

they are making you stronger and stronger every day.

And the world needs more strong women.

Use your strength in places that bring you joy. Usually that comes from helping others, teaching others what you know, and reminidng yourself of all that is good and true when you are feeling week.

You are such a gift. Keep being brave.

ABC Creativity - Weekly Intention

Every Monday, Andrea over at ABCcreativity share's her intention for the week and welcomes you to do the same. This is not about setting goals or creating to-do lists and working our tails off to achieve them. This is about taking some time to be quiet and still and ask “What do I need this week?” and setting an intention from there to align ourselves with that. It’s about paving the way for success, joy and dreams come true to find us throughout the week.

This week I intend to focus on meditation and relaxation in order to give more to my art, especially as I doing the new She Art Worshop with the amazing Christy Tomlinson!

52Q, Week 9 - What Was The Last Brave Thing I did?

No problem with that one, I joined the Brave Girls Club 3 months ago, signed up for Soul Restoration #1 Class in January, started the course 11th January and life has been so totally different because of it, discovered mixed media art, zentangles, doodling, some Amazing Brave Girl Sisters in an amazing community and a sense of peace.
There is another Soul Restoration class starting in April  for first timers and Soul Restoration #2 starts in June for SR#1 Alumni (I am already registered!)
There will be a Blog Hop for Soul Restoration here on my blog starting this Friday, so you can see what other Brave Girls have to say about the course - it is awesome!

Lovely Surprise!

The postie has been TWICE - truly beautiful bouquet of yellow roses from NEXT and a box of Hotel Chocolat Signature Dark chocolates - absolutely gorgeous and totally out of the blue, thank you Lou & David, most appreciated! I have to admit the chocolates have been started (well what do you expect?) and the box does contain my most favourite of all Hotel Chocolat's chocolates, meet Isabelle - a lush praline mousse with almond crunch topping - thankfully DH does not like nuts so I have to eat them both, it will be hard but I enjoy the challenge LOL!

Diary of a Crafty Chica: 'Share It Saturday' giveaway!

Diary of a Crafty Chica: POST YOUR CRAFT: 'Share It Saturday' link party & weekly giveaway!

And The Winner is...

Drum roll please.........Angie

My coloured beach chair would be the Turquoise/Teal one on the end, I admit it was a close call for the pink one, followed by the lavender one as it is central, never in a month of sundays would I have picked the orange, green or yellow one. There were 4 correct answers and my husband picked Angie's name out of the little handmade scalloped box, pm me your email address on FB Angie and I'll send a little birdie flying over to you!

UPDATE - Little bird landed safely in Oregon!
